[And oh, he hears that giggling. He's heard it far too many times after far too many pranks and stunts pulled by the same man.

Which is why he makes a point when he turns the corner to push himself forward with gravity manipulation, flying over to try and pin Dazai to the wall, hopefully before he can even think to react.]

[If he didn't bend his knees, Chuuya would just have dragged him down to his level anyway. As it stands, Dazai is going to be dragged in closer for Chuuya to face him at eye level, scowling.]

While that's certainly a tempting prospect, some of them would probably want to do that themselves. I suppose I could hold you down while they beat you up, if I'm feeling charitable.

But a good chunk of them back home wanted answers or new contact info, both things I sure as hell couldn't give them.

[Dazai could certainly try, but he's not the only one allergic to talking about feelings. It's going to take a little more effort.]

[Dazai seems to be forgetting that Chuuya is in fact perfectly capable of doing exactly that.

Well, it's time to remind him.

Chuuya shoots Dazai a vicious little grin before his arms are curling around Dazai's stomach, and in the next moment, Dazai will find himself being lifted and thrown over Chuuya's shoulder like a sack of potatoes.]

Maybe not so romantically, but this works.

(oh, chuuya. oh, small, narrow-minded chuuya. if he thinks dazai's going to sit back, slomp, become the consistency of a noodle while he's just being taken? absolutely not. legs are thin, long, and they can wrap around chuuya's back and pull.

[The unfair thing about Dazai is while Chuuya has unnaturally good balance thanks to his ability, Dazai is the only one who can disrupt it so easily. Which mean more often than not, these moves of his actually do work.

As it does now, because while Chuuya would normally correct his fall, Dazai continues to be a menace by simply existing. He lets out a yell as they fall, trapped in an octopus grip and damn well making sure Dazai breaks his fall, at least.]

(the minute his back hits the floor, that's when he's already shoving chuuya from the top of him, roughly, angrily, and only god knows why.)

[Something about the tension between them has changed, and Chuuya doesn't know why, but it pisses him off like nothing else.

So when Dazai shoves him off, he goes... but there's no escaping Chuuya when he twists and lashes out to snatch Dazai's arm instead.]

(like this, there's not much dazai can do but ask for the grip to leave him. chuuya's physically stronger, and pulling his arm back could lead to injury.

[Chuuya doesn't plan to break Dazai's arm, but he is very certain that letting Dazai run off now would be a terrible idea. So he won't.]

Hiding from women and now you sounds like an incredible plan, very smart, considering you're mad at me.

[Chuuya tenses, but there's no hiding that there is something like concern in his expression, beneath the anger.]

I think you're trying to go off and do something fucking stupid, and either I'm going to regret letting you or you're going to regret doing it. So no, you're not leaving my sight.

[Loyalty was Chuuya’s greatest virtue, but also his greatest weakness. He constantly put others before himself, he didn’t know when to give up or let go.

And he certainly wasn’t letting go when his instincts were screaming at him that dazai was being a bigger moron than usual.]

[The abandonment issues have been there since he was 15. They've only grown ever since, with every loss.]

[Oh, he's certainly starting to see it. He doesn't like it, it's too much vulnerability, too much being said without being said at all, and it's uncomfortable in the raw honesty of it.

And yet... it also makes him angry. His hand on Dazai's wrist tugs him closer, something sharp and hot and hurt in his eyes.]

Don't just assume things like that you bastard. Do you really think I'd bother spending time with you if I didn't want to?
